The International Education Program welcomes you to a week-long celebration of diversity and cultural exchange. All are welcome: Students, Faculty, Employees, Alumni, and the surrounding community. Whether you've recently settled in America, are considering travel abroad, or want to promote friendship among the world's peoples, enjoy exciting events during the week of Mon, Nov. 18!
From the Library Explore a research guide featuring a digital book display, along with student resources. Stop by Fannin to check out a display celebrating the cultural richness international education delivers.
Events
Join us at Sophomore Square, unless noted otherwise. In addition to the main highlights, visit a study abroad booth, games, international candy, virtual trivia, and at the library, an international book display.
MONDAY, NOV. 18
Events Begin at 11 am
11 - 11:30 am | Opening Ceremony
Enjoy the annual celebration of Phoenix College's diversity, the Parade of Flags.
11:30 am - 12:30 pm | PC Steel Pan Group
Enjoy steel drum rhythms, while sampling international candies. Learn about Maricopa Study Abroad programs, and play trivia games.
12:30 pm - 1 pm | Speed Language Game
Learn how to say Hello in different languages to the beat of musical chairs.
2 - 4 pm | International Film and Popcorn
Watch The Man Who Knew Infinity: a film from the United Kingdom & India. Building C, Room C102.
Based on the true story of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, this film explores his journey to Cambridge University and his collaboration with professor G.H. Hardy. It highlights the value of intellectual curiosity, dedication, and overcoming cultural barriers.
