Constitution & Citizenship Day 2022

Elections: Foundations of a Constitutional Democracy

In honor of Constitution & Citizenship Day, which falls over the preceding weekend, we invite you to join in our annual discussion on Tuesday, September 21.

We'll focus on the electoral process, and its significance in making your voice heard.  This year, we'll also examine the current state of religion in America, with respect to the Constitution.  Stephen Richer, Maricopa County Recorder, will join as our honored guest.

U.S. Constitution & Citizenship Day

The Constitution has been the supreme law of our land since it was signed 235 years ago.  It established three branches of government—legislative, judicial, and executive—to ensure no individual or group has too much power.  A living document, the Constitution has evolved to broadly protect the voting rights of most American citizens.  Since 2004, September 17 has been commemorated as "Constitution and Citizenship Day."

Join the discussion, and take a moment to reflect on the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship, including participating in our elections.
