PC Women's Soccer Team claimed the program's second NJCAA Division II national title at the championship series in November.
Phoenix was the No. 2 seed going into the tournament, beating No. 11 South Suburban and No. 7 Southwestern Illinois for a spot in the semifinals. The second semifinal saw No. 2 Phoenix get past No. 4 Northwest Mississippi 2-0 to set-up a rematch of the 2020 NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship match with Holmes.
Ariana Leamons netted two-goals for the Bear's in a 4-0 win over No. 1 Holmes. Leamons also assisted on both goals in the second half to Zalma Torres and Anacel Valenzuela-Acosta. While goalkeeper Jennifer Alvillar had a clean-sheet with 5 saves playing all 90 minutes of the match.
Guiding the Bears to their second title in school history, Chris Sagar earned the Coach of the Tournament award. This is the women's soccer team's second national title in three years. Congratulations!
Men's Soccer Team Ranked No. 1 Going into Postseason
Top-seeded Phoenix College came out of Pool A in the NJCAA playoffs with two shutout victories. The Bears defeated 12th-seeded Massasoit (MA) and eighth-seeded Northeast (NE) en route to the semifinals.
The Men's Soccer Team was looking to reach its first national championship game after reaching its first semifinal round, and the Bears faced a hungry Prairie State team. After 90 minutes and two overtime, it would all come down to penalty kicks. The Pioneers won in penalty kicks 4-2 and defeated the top-ranked Phoenix College Bears.
