Are you, or someone you know, looking to build advanced skills that lead to jobs in high-wage, high-growth occupations? Governor Katie Hobbs and Arizona’s ten public community college districts have partnered to create the Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship program. The scholarship aims to foster a skilled workforce tailored to the evolving demands of our state’s economy and help Arizonans earn a credential, license, or degree, moving the state closer to reaching its Achieve60AZ education attainment goal.
Governor Hobbs has allocated $4.5 million in federal funding to kick-start the scholarship, with the goal of the program continuing in the future with public or private funding. Projected to serve as many as 10,000 Arizona students, including working adults looking to upskill and reskill, the scholarship offers $600 for part-time students and $1200 for full-time students.
Phoenix College will focus on the regional industries present in its local community, including the following high-wage, high-growth sectors:
- Dental services
- Education and early education
- Healthcare
- IT/cybersecurity/broadband/data analytics
- Legal services
The scholarship covers certificates, associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, clock hours, and non-credit training in high-demand industries. Funds pay educational expenses, including tuition, fees, and technology needs. New and current students with a 2.0 GPA, eligible for in-state tuition, and enrolled in one of the 353 award programs that meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
This scholarship is currently available for the Fall 2024 semester. Apply now.
