Phoenix, AZ – March 24, 2025 – Phoenix College (PC) has been recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025 by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. This prestigious honor highlights PC’s dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging learning and working environment.

The recognition celebrates Phoenix College’s best-in-class faculty and staff recruitment and retention practices, fostering a staff sense of belonging and equipping college educators for their work with students.

“Phoenix College is honored to be recognized for our unwavering commitment to workplace excellence,” said Dr. Kimberly Britt, President of Phoenix College. “This award is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our faculty, staff, administration, and students, who work daily to create a welcoming and thriving campus environment.”

One of the many employee recognition events on campus is the annual Distinguished Teaching Award. In 2024, math professor Marcia Corby was honored by her peers for her dedication both to her students and to serving as a teaching mentor to fellow faculty. "My classroom is an open door. I look at my job and collaborations like iron sharpening iron" states Corby.

Phoenix College will be formally recognized at NISOD’s annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin, Texas, on Monday, May 26, 2025 and be featured in the May edition of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Phoenix College remains dedicated to fostering a culture of belonging and empowerment, reinforcing its mission to serve as a beacon for workplace excellence in higher education.
