Note: Since the graduation ceremony is held once per year, previous year Summer and Fall degree/certificate completers may participate. Students may be awarded after the completion of each semester (Spring, Summer, Fall).

Prepare for graduation and ensure a successful and enjoyable commencement ceremony. Follow the steps outlined below:


Obtain your Official Transcripts

Ensure that all credit received at other institutions is sent to Phoenix College by ordering official transcripts and sending them to:

Please note: You do not need to have other Maricopa Community College transcripts sent to PC.

Official transcripts from Maricopa County Community Colleges may cost $5.00.

Submit Your Application

Bring or deliver your application—prior to the posted deadline—to the Admissions and Records office at:

  1. Download a degree application or certificate application [PDF].
  2. Submit a separate application for each degree/certificate. Consult the Program Codes guide to find the correct number for your Program of Study.
  3. Attach a completed check sheet for each degree/certificate. Check sheets should be picked up from the Hannelly One-Stop Enrollment Center (you can also find check sheets and more information at the MCCCD Curriculum website)

    Note: It is strongly recommended that students schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor or Program Coordinator for a review of your check-sheet.

Pay Your Fees

To participate in the commencement ceremony (which is only held in May) requires a $25.00 fee. This one-time fee is refundable up to two weeks prior to graduation. This fee must be paid at the Cashiers office during application submission.

The following items are included in this fee:

  • Cap and gown
  • Honor cords
  • Degree or certificate cover

Notification will be sent 30 days prior to the day of the ceremony.

Outstanding Balances

This is a good time to be sure you have no outstanding balances, fees, or traffic fines before you submit your graduation application. Any debts within the Maricopa Colleges must be cleared before a degree/certificate can be awarded.


Grad Trax is a graduation information session for all potential graduates who are targeted to complete a degree or certificate.  In this informational session, you will learn about the many resources available to assist you with your transition from Phoenix College to your next step. The resources include, the next steps to transfer to a university or the tools needed to apply for your career. You will gain knowledge on the importance of paying off student debt and payment options available to you. The session will wrap up with what to expect on commencement day and what you can do to get involved with Phoenix College’s Alumni Association.

Steps to Sign Up for Grad Trax

Phi Theta Kappa Graduation Regalia

If you are planning on ordering regalia for your graduation, please go to and click "login" in the upper right corner. Then follow the instructions for entering your Phi Theta Kappa membership number and school information (you should have received your PTK membership card in the mail). Once you have successfully entered the information, you'll be able to order your graduation regalia. You may choose to order the chords, the stole, or both.

If you have any trouble placing your order or you have any questions, please call your PTK advisor.

Honors designations will be based only on course work used for graduation requirements, completed prior to the Spring semester. If your designation changes upon completion of your Spring semester grades, your transcript and diploma will reflect the correct designation. We are NOT able to make any honors designation changes on the evening of the graduation ceremony.

Honors/Special Designation Regalia

Pick up your cap and gown at the Follett Bookstore, located in the HB building across from the Hannelly Center.

Cap and gowns will be available at the Bookstore beginning (date to be determined). You may pick them up during the following business hours: Mon-Thur  8am–6:00pm;  Fri 8am–1pm.

Student Check-In

  • Graduates must arrive at (location TBD) no later than (time TBD).
  • Bottled water will be available.

Special Accommodations:

  • Seating for disabled guests will be available.
  • Interpreters for the deaf and hard of hearing will be present. 
  • Disabled seating for graduates will be available. Please notify Disability Resources and Services in advance.

Guest Admission

Family and guests are encouraged to arrive early. Doors to Grand Canyon University Arena will open at 6:00 p.m. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

Parking: (Spring 2019 commencement parking TBD)
There are three designated parking garages for the Arena, the 29th Avenue garage, the 33rd Avenue garage, and the Halo garage (located off 35th Avenue).  Traffic control officers will direct traffic to the appropriate garage as capacity allows upon arrival.  Please plan accordingly to arrive on time due to rush hour traffic and the distance from the parking structure to the Arena.  Handicapped parking is available.  Please see the map provided for more information.

  • Cell phones must be silent or turned off

GradImages Inc. will be take “no obligation” portrait photographs during the ceremony.   When you pick up your regalia from the Bookstore, you will receive a photo card to complete and give back to them.
