Adrianna Coronel | Interim VP Academic AffairsAdrianna Coronel, serving as the Interim VPAA, brings more than fifteen years of experience as a faculty member at Phoenix College, including nine years as Department Chair of Dental Programs. She also has six years of experience as a Curriculum Development Facilitator (CDF) and is Past-President of the Phoenix College Faculty Senate. Adrianna most recently served as the Dean of Academic Affairs position at Phoenix College since 2022.

Adrianna has a passion for unlocking, for students and for our college, what are perceived as insurmountable obstacles to achieving an education and viable career choices for our students. As a single mother and first-generation college student from a family of low socioeconomic status, she relates to the real challenges, barriers, and experiences that the students at PC face.

She passionately values equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy for all students. Providing every student with a path to academic success is a philosophy she strongly values and supports. Adrianna believes in the potential of all people and understands the need to close the achievement gaps. She has the privilege of teaching a diverse group of students who are on course to follow a similar career path as she once did. This has motivated her to have critical discussions to find solutions to support the diverse financial, social, and personal needs of all students.

Adrianna is a graduate of the Phoenix College Dental Hygiene Program. She possesses a Master’s degree in Higher Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from NAU and is currently a doctoral candidate (Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction) at NAU.

Adrianna resides in Central Phoenix and has one daughter, Alisza (also a PC Grad), and enjoys visiting family in California.
