Protocol
BAT has developed a protocol to ensure that concerning student behavior, mental health issues, or incidents are addressed consistently and in a timely manner.
Reporting Incidents to the BAT
In cases of emergency, reporters must contact the district Police Communications Center at 480-784-0911 or 911. The BAT plays a secondary role in all emergency situations and is brought in as a secondary support through referrals from the CARE team, conduct reports, and staff communications.
- All employees should consider it their responsibility to report concerning behaviors for the safety and well-being of the student and campus community.
- Faculty/staff/community members can reach the BAT staff through the Manger of Conduct & Community Standards office at 602-285-7656 during regular business hours
- Emergencies should ALWAYS be reported to the district Police Communications Center at 480-784-0911 or 911. They will contact the BAT as needed.
- When determining what is reportable, err on the side of over-reporting.
- Please refer to Warning Signs for more information. While an isolated event may appear minor, other similar incidents occurring in close proximity may indicate a pattern of concerning behavior. Access the student code of conduct and MCCCD policies at: 2.5 Student Rights and Responsibilities
Situations involving student(s) demonstrating an imminent threat to harm of self or others should be referred immediately to Phoenix College Police, and then to the Manager of Conduct and community Standards office.
