Student Athlete Scholastic Success Program
SASS is the Student-Athlete Scholastic Success program. It is a program designed to give a holistic approach to ensuring all student-athletes get the support they need on the field and in the classroom. The student, their coach, their advisors, and a SASS Mentor all collaborate and each plays a pivotal role in ensuring success as the student-athletes work their way through the challenges of being a student-athlete in college.
What is the purpose of the SASS (Student Athlete Scholastic Success Program)?
To ensure the highest percentage of student-athlete success in graduating in good standing and maintaining eligibility if they wish to continue playing sports at a 4-year university or institution.
What are the SASS Outcomes?
Success is measured by maintaining sufficient grades to retain eligibility and transfer those credits into the next stop in the student-athlete’s academic career. Improving overall GPA, graduating, and being in a position to continue to the next level, should they wish, is the ultimate successful outcome.
What are the benefits to Faculty?
Faculty are made aware of student-athletes’ schedules to facilitate a collaborative process between student-athletes and their instructors. Mentors provide support to help students make progress in their academic careers.
What are the benefits to Students?

- Stay eligible to play
- Stay eligible with financial aid
