Phoenix College ESL teachers embrace student success beginning on the first day of class. To foster an inclusive environment for students to thrive, we encourage everyone to adopt the 10 Commitments of ESL Students on Day 1. We are excited to welcome you to an exciting semester of engagement and learning soon. Classes begin the week of Aug. 19th. We will see you soon!
- We speak English in English class.
- We attend all classes.
- We are on time to class and don’t leave early.
- We are prepared for class with our books and materials.
- We use our brains to figure things out, not a computer or smartphone.
- We do our own work; we don’t use the Internet or get too much help.
- We complete quizzes, projects and assignments on time.
- We earn grades; the teacher does not give grades.
- We work with other students respectfully and thoughtfully.
- We focus on our lessons.
