Determined and ready to achieve her next goal, Maysam enrolled in Level II ESL courses at Phoenix College. However, her first day was a little more than she expected.

I love the diversity of students in my ESL classes. I learn so much about other places around the world. I also like the challenge of coming up with different learning activities that incorporate reading, writing, speaking and listening so that students get as much exposure to the English language as possible.

I know from first-hand experience that it can take a while to learn a new language, so be patient with yourself. Things don't always go as expected. It is no different when it comes to learning English.

ESL students, Eiji Hata and Kaito Nakayama, are experiencing success on and off the field this semester at Phoenix College. As many college athletes agree, being a student athlete is no easy task. However, for Eiji and Kaito, it is clear that they are not only dedicated to their language studies but also to the sport of soccer.
