Nina Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholars Program
Popularly referred to as the Nina Scholars Program, this initiative provides a unique opportunity for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to obtain the resources and financial assistance to complete their college educations. The program covers full tuition; as well as costs associated with fees, books, and supplies. Participants receive a living stipend and are connected with mentor support.
Eligibility
The Nina Scholars program serves adult students who meet at least one of the following criteria:
• supports one or more dependents in their household
• lives with a physical disability
• is aged 18 - 25, financially self-supporting; and has experienced foster care; or has been disconnected from their parents/primary caregiver

The Nina Mason Pulliam Trust

NINA MASON PULLIAM (1906 -1997) was an American journalist, author, and newspaper executive in Arizona and Indiana, where she was also well-known as a philanthropist and civic leader. Pulliam began her career as a journalist in Indiana, and later worked with her husband, Eugene C. Pulliam, as founding secretary-treasurer and board member of Central Newspapers, a media holding company he established in 1934. The couple later settled in Phoenix. |

SUPPORTING HER LEGACY The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, the primary funding source for this program, provides grants to people in need—especially women, children, and families. It also funds initiatives to protect animals, the environment, and quality of life in metro Phoenix and Indianapolis. In 2001, the Trust established the Nina Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholars program in tribute to the life and values of its benefactress.
