International Insurance
General Information
All international students must have health insurance while studying at Phoenix College. Once registered for classes, the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be automatically provided to you and it will be added to your tuition fees.
Medical Services
Whenever you are in need of medical attention make sure you follow the guidelines provided in the information below as this can help reduce costs significantly.
How to Find a Doctor
Use an in-network (PPO) doctor whenever possible. Note: You are not required to see in-network doctors; however, if you choose to see a doctor who is not an in-network provider, you will have to pay 40% of Usual and Reasonable charges.
To find an in-network provider, follow these instructions:
- Go to www.cigna.com and click “Find a Doctor” in the upper- right corner.
- Click on link that reads, “Plans through your employer or school.”
- Under “Search Location” enter your city and state or ZIP code.
- Under “Select a Plan” choose “PICK.” Expand the Medical Plans option and select “PPO” then click on “Choose.” Click “Search.”
- Select a doctor from the list. Phone the doctor’s office to make an appointment.
- Tell them you have Cigna’s PPO Network.

To create your Insurance Account
- Visit www.4studenthealth.com.
- Select Maricopa Community College District and the International Student Health Insurance plan from the dropdown menus. click "View Your Plan."
- On your school's web page, click the icon that says "Insurance ID Card" to be redirected to the Member Portal.
- If you have already created an account, sign in with your student email address and password.
- If you do not already have an account, click "Create Account" in the upper right corner.
- Fill in your name, date of birth, student email address, and student ID number (starts with 3).
