Writing Center
The Writing Center helps you navigate the writing process for any writing project.
Writing tutors provide support for English, ESL, Spanish, reading, study skills, and any writing assignment for any course. Our tutors will help you to understand your assignment, develop a thesis statement, organize sentences and paragraphs, learn grammar, and much more. We also help with speeches, essays and personal statements for scholarships, and essays for transfer applications.
Writing Tutors are available to assist you with any stage of the writing process for
- In-person at the Learning Commons (Lower Level, Fannin Library) or
- Online through the Online Tutoring Room link from the PC.AY23-24.LearningCommons.Students Canvas course.
Writing Lab Submissions
You may also submit your paper for feedback through our Online Writing Lab. There is no limit on the number of papers you submit in a semester.
You will be asked to submit 2 different files:
- File 1) Your Instructor's Directions
- File 2) Your Written Assignment
Your writing tutor will provide feedback by responding to the following questions:
- Does the writing meet the instructor's assignment expectations?
- Does the writing meet the instructor's format requirements?
- Does the writing follow a clear and successful structure?
- What are the writer's strengths?
- How can the writer improve?
Tutors will respond within 24 hours on weekdays and within 48 hours on weekends. You will receive a notification when feedback is submitted through your Maricopa email address. You can also view feedback by clicking on "Grades" from the course.
